Tony & Christie Cooper

"Being in business with my family has been the joy of my life.  I'm convinced that it's the closeness we share that keeps our family and our company successful." -Lucy Cooper

In 1975 Lucy Cooper went to work for Harrison Company a small cigarette and cigar distributor in Shreveport, LA as a shipping clerk. Lucy needed a job so that she could afford to buy carpet for her newborns bedroom.  Through the years mom worked her way up from that entry level position and in 1995 became Executive Vice President and co-owner of the company.  When Lucy's oldest son Tony graduated from high school he joined mom by working as a merchandiser for Harrison Company.  Lucy retired in 1996 and sold her interest in Harrison Company, but Tony remained on board.  Following in his mother's footsteps, Tony worked his way up in the company too and by 2001 he was the Division Sales Manager for Texas.  When mom retired from Harrison Company she bought a convenience store near Benton, La.  The store is called Cooper's Country Corner.

Early in 2002 Tony stumbled upon a business opportunity that would lead him to again follow is his mothers footsteps.  A chain of tobacco stores located in Longview was for sale.  Given the family background, Tony knew they would be successful operating a business of this nature.  Tony convinced his mother to partner with him in his new venture and Cooper's Country Corner purchased Tobacco Junction on February 24, 2002.

Because of the Cooper Family's expertise, Tobacco Junction has opened two new stores, tripled the number of products it offers, built the two largest walk-in humidors in East Texas and built the first and only cigar lounge in East Texas.  As a result, Tobacco Junction sells more tobacco products than anyone in East Texas.  Tobacco Junction has also become an authorized dealer for virtually every product we sell and we are an exclusive dealer for many of the premium cigar brands we offer.

The Cooper Family firmly believes in responsible tobacco retailing.  We have a zero tolerance policy for selling tobacco products minors.  We believe tobacco should be consumed by adults who make the choice to do so.  Even if you choose not to shop with us, please choose to do business with a responsible retailer.
